       1848-1851 Richard Mann was a high priest in LDS church in  Pottawattamie Co. Iowa according to their membership records.

On 8 July 1852 Richard Mann was  a part of Henry Miller’s Company of Pioneers going to Utah. About 29 individuals and 63 wagons were in the company when it began its journey from the outfitting post at Kanesville, Iowa. The wagon train arrived in Utah 2 Oct 1852  (Mormon Pioneer Overland trail  1847-1868)) Richard was ae 49. His party consisted of 2 males,2 females  1 child.

Ira & Ruth Oviatt traveled to Utah on 29 June 1851 in the Easton Kelsey Company - 100 wagons were in the company when it began its journey from the outfitting post at Kanesville, Iowa (present day Council Bluffs).  They originally departed about June 10, but turned back due to Indian trouble.  They left again June 29, Luman A. Shurtliff was  Captain of the First  Fifty and Isaac Alfred was captain of the 2d Fifty Mormon Pioneer Overland Travel (1847 - 1868.) Family History Library
