Joseph Hadsall & Rachel Crumb of Rhode Island and some of their descendants  

                             First Generation

	1.	JOSEPH HADSALL was born about 1695 perhaps the son of Joseph
Hadsall  & Hannah of Dunstable, MA but this is unproven. Joseph died 25 Sept.
1727.1  On 13 Nov. 1727 the Town Council of Westerly, RI granted administration of
the estate of Joseph Hadsall to his widow Rachel Hadsall.  On 29 Mar. 1742 Rachel
gave an accounting of the  estate.  She was allowed 78 pounds 9 shillings & 8d for
keeping her dead husband's children 2 

On 31 Jan. 1716/1717 William Stark of Groton, CT sold land for 25 pounds to Joseph
Hadsall of Westerly RI.3

Obadiah Pendleton, husbandman & Rachel, his wife  of Westerly for love & good will 
toward our son William Hadsall, Rachel being widow to Joseph Hadsall - land bought
of Thomas Edwards 7 Apr. 1742.4   

JOSEPH married RACHEL CRUMB, daughter of WILLIAM CRUMB & MERCY
SAUNDERS, on 10 Nov 1715 in Westerly, Washington Co., RI.5  Rachel  was christened
in 1700.6 Rachel Pendleton inherited, from her father, one shilling plus what she had already
been given.7 Rachel died after 3  Jan. 1751/2.8

On 29 June 1730 the Town Council accepted William Crumb as bondsman for the
support of Rachel's child "Joe"9

JOSEPH and RACHEL had the following children:10

21 Jun 1788.

	3	F	ii.	MERCY HADSALL was born on 4 Feb 1718/1719 in Westerly,
RI.

	4	F	iii.	SARAH HADSALL was born on 17 Sep 1719 in Westerly, RI.
SARAH married SAMUEL HILL, son of JOSIAH HILL and MARY,
on 3 Dec 1737 in Westerly RI.11

	5	M	iv.	JOSEPH HADSALL was born on 17 May 1721 in Westerly,
RI.

+	6	M	v.	JAMES HADSALL was born on 4 Feb 1726.

+	7	M	vi.	WILLIAM HADSALL was born on 10 Mar 1723/1724.

	8	F	vii.	JEMIMA HADSALL was born on 8 Sep 1727 in Westerly, RI.

            RACHEL (CRUMB) HADSALL married2 OBADIAH PENDLETON 4 June 
173612  OBADIAH PENDLETON lwas the son of JAMES PENDLETON & ELIZABETH 
LAMPHEAR13   Obadish was born 1 Nov. 1712 in Westerly, RI.14  He died 1 Oct. 1793 in 
Westerly, RI.15


                            Second Generation

	2.	THANKFUL HADSALL (JOSEPH) was born on 23 Jul 1716 in Westerly, Washington
Co., RI. She died after 21 Jun  1788  when she was mentioned in the codicil to her husband's
will..

THANKFUL married ICHABOD ECCLESTON, on 27 Jun 1735/1736 in Westerly,
Washington Co., RI.16 Ichabod was born about 1715. He died about 1793 in
Stonington, New London Co., CT.17  He supposedly was the son of either Joseph,

	10	F	ii.	SARAH ECCLESTON was born about 1736.

Nov 1827.

	12	M	iv.	BENEDICT ECCLESTON was born about 1740.  .

	14	M	vi.	JOSEPH ECCLESTON was born about 1747. .

	15	M	vii.	DAVID ECCLESTON was born on 18 Jun 1755 .

	6.	JAMES HADSALL (JOSEPH) was born on 4 Feb 1726 in Westerly, RI. He died June
1778 in the Wyoming Massacre.19

James Hadsall came to Wyoming Valley from Stonington, CT. He was an early
proprietor of the Susquehanna Company. He lived in the Town of Exeter where he
owned much property and operated a tannery a grist mill and a saw mill.  He was
captured and killed by the Indians in the Wyoming massacre. 20
   
JAMES married CONTENT WORDEN, daughter of PETER IV WORDEN and
REBECCA RICHMOND, 8 Mo 12 Day 1752 in South Kingston, RI21. Content was born
about 1725. She died before 1778.22

	7.	WILLIAM HADSALL (JOSEPH) was born on 10 Mar 1723/1724 in Westerly, RI.

In Apr. 1752 William Hadsall & Dorcas his wife, weaver sold lad to John Deake,
physician of Westerly witnessed by Elizabeth Pendleton & James Hadsall. 25 

In the year 1746 Joseph Stillman & Mary his wife to William Hadsell of Westerly,
weaver, land bounded by George Deake, Josiah Hill Jr., Joseph Runnolds and
Nathan Burdick, witnesses: George Stillman and William Hern, recorded 5 May
1746.26 

William Hadsall and Dorcas his wife sold land to John Deake of Westerly 23 Feb.
1749, witnessed by Nathan Burdick & Josiah Hill.27 

William Hadsall & Dorcas his wife sold land to Icabod Egleston of Stonington,
laborer 19 Feb. 1749/50.28
    
WILLIAM married DORCAS EGGLESTON on 13 Apr 1745 in Westerly, RI.29

They had the following children:30

JOSEPH married THANKFUL. Thankful died on 9 Aug 1793 in Hancock,
MA.31

	30	F	v.	SARAH HADSALL was born on 19 Aug 1754.

	31	F	vi.	MARY HADSALL was born on 23 Mar 1756.
