survivor the land . 3

In 1639 Duxbury Town Records show that the people of that town promised
William Hiller & George Pollard certain concessions for setting up a grist mill on stony
Brook and one of these concessions was to try to procure the lands of John Irish and
Henry Wallis offering them an exchange of land elsewhere or to give them 6 pounds
toward purchase of land .4 On 11 June 1641 John exchanged his 10 acres at Stony
Brook to Hiller & Pollard for the latter's house and garden lot. 5

On 7 Dec. 1659 John & Elizabeth Irish of Duxbury, roper, sold Guydo Bayley land
in Bridgewater.6

John Sr. left no will but on 5 Mar 1677/78 the Court ordered a division of the land
owned by John Irish deceased, at Saconett, which he had bequeathed to his two sons
John Jr. & Elias Irish. 7

On 7 June 1637 it was enacted by the Plymouth Colony Court to send
forth a company of soldiers to aid Massachusetts & Connecticut in the war against the
Pequod Indians. John Irish was one of this number.8
