                DESCENDANTS OF RICHARD PARK/PARKS
              (Allied Families Billings & Hastings)

                         First Generation

	1.	RICHARD Sr. PARK was born about 1602 in England. He died in 1665 in Cambridge,
Middlesex Co., MA.1

Richard Park came to the Colonies in the Ship DEFENSE in July of 1635,
passenger list reading "(A Miller) Richard PERK, age 33, Margery PERK, age 40,
Isabell PERK, age 7, and Elizabeth PERK, age 4".2

Richard Park lived in Cambridge, MA where in 1639 he owned one house upon
the cow common with half an acre of ground abutted by Perifiaull Greene, west; John 
Wilcock, east; the swamp on the north-east and the cow common on the south west.  A 
transcript of the houses and lands of the residents of Cambridge dated in 1642 showed
that Richard owned one dwelling house on the common with outhouses and about half
an acre of land  more or less, abutted by Nathaniel Sparrowhack on the east; Hellen
Green on the west; the pyne swamp on the north; and the common on the south.  In
1647/48 he had 14 acres laid out to him and another parcel of 11 acres abutting upon
Edward Jackson's land east & west and the highway and the highway to Dedham
passing through the land .3

Richard served as a selectman in 1656 and a commissioner to lay out
highways in 1657. 4

Richard Park's will is dated 12 July 1665 and mentions his loving wife,
two daughter (not named) and son Thomas Park.  The document was witnessed
by Hugh Maxon and Elder? Wiswell. The inventory was taken 19 Oct 1665. 5

+	3	M	ii.  THOMAS PARK was born about 1628/1629 and died on 11 Aug
1690.

	4	F	iii.  ISABELL PARK was born about 1632. She died on 31 Mar 1665 in
Cambridge, Middlesex Co., MA.7
ISABELL married FRANCIS WHITMORE. Francis died on 12 Oct
1685 in Cambridge, MA.8

	5	F	iv.   ELIZABETH PARK was born about 1631. She died on 19 Sep 1690
                                         in her 58th year  in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., MA.9
        ELIZABETH married EDWARD WINSHIP. Edward died on 2             
Dec 1688, ae 62,  in Cambridge, MA.10


RICHARD also married (2) SARAH COLLIER after 1 Sep 1656. Sarah was born about
1615. She died on 26 Apr 1691 in Plymouth, MA in her 76th year.11  Sarah was also
married to LOVE BREWSTER 24 May 1634 in Plymouth, MA 12  Love Brewster died
Jan. Feb. 1651 in Duxbury,MA13

                      Second Generation

	2.	RICHARD Jr. PARK (RICHARD Sr.) was born about 1628 in England. He died
1715/1728.

This Richard Park lived in the towns of Cambridge, Sherborn, Concord and
Weston in the State of Massachusetts.

The following land records for Richard & Mary are given in aforementioned
Parke Genealogy:

(1)  On 14 Oct. 1678 Richard Parks of Cambridge, planter and his wife Mary
conveyed to Joseph Wilson "all that tract of land on which I have errected my
now dwelling house in Cambridge Village on the south side of Charles River,
being six acres and bounding Noah Wiswall, Daniel Preston, Thomas Wise Thomas
Hammond, James Trowbridge & Deliverance Jackson (Middlesex Deeds 8:64)  

(2)  On 18 Mar 1686/7 Richard & Mary Park conveyed land in Sherborne to
Daniel Bigelow (Middlesex Deeds 8:516).

(3)  Richard Park purchased land from Nathaniel Billings consisting of 18
acres of upland on 26 May 1687.

(4)  On 9 Apr. 1711 Richard Parks Sr. & Mary his wife and John Parks and
Deliverance, his wife, sold land to Richard Parks Jr. - all parties of Concord, MA.

Richard Park died between the years 1715 and 1727/28.  On 30 Aug. 1715
Richard Parks and Mary his wife, both being aged and impotent persons, being
inhabitants of Concord, were warned out of town .14

 In the Year 1727/8 John Parks, then of Killingly, CT gave up his right to the property
where his deceased father Richard Parks did formerly dwell in southerly part of
Concord.15

RICHARD married MARY.

They had the following children:16

+	7	M	ii. RICHARD 2d PARK was born about 1667 and died on 19 Jun 1725.

	3.	THOMAS PARK (RICHARD Sr.) was born about 1628/1629 in England. He died on 11
Aug 1690 in Newton, Middlesex Co., MA.17

Thomas probably came to the Colonies with his parents on the DEFENSE
although his name is not on the passenger list.  He resided in Cambridge
Village, now Newton, MA where he was a farmer.  On 12 Apr. 1665 he served as a
constable in Cambridge .18  He was a freeman there on 31 May 1671.19 Thomas Park
was assessed for three persons and estate by the Newton commissioners in the Year
1658.20  He had part interest in a corn mill.21

Abigail Park granted administration of her husband's estate on 8 Oct.
1690 with John & Edward Park principals and Henry Spring surety.  The
estate was divided 12 Mar. 1693/94.  Thomas' sons JOHN, EDWARD, RICHARD,
& JONATHAN PARK; his daughters Abigail FISKE, Sarah KNAPP, Rebecca
SANGER and Elizabeth PARK received land.  One of the clauses in division of
property read "Each child shall have free liberty to goe with horse or cart as they have
ocation to improve theire _____lands or other wise if need shall be provided
and care be taken not to doe damage to each other _____by leaving open gates or
bars or any other way."  The estate was divided by William Bond, Isaac Williams,
Nathan Fisk, Samuel Thatcher, Samuel Jenmison22

THOMAS married ABIGAIL DIX, daughter of EDWARD DIX and JANE, on 1 Dec
1653 in Newton, Middlesex Co., MA.23 Abigail was born on 21 May 1637 in Watertown,
Middlesex Co., MA.24 She died on 3 Feb 1691 in Newton, Middlesex Co., MA.25  SEE

JOHN married as second wife ELIZABETH MILLER on 5 Apr 1694.29 
Elizabeth died on 2 Apr 1749 in Holliston, MA in 81st yr.30

died before 19 Jan 1699  when her husband married HANNAH
RICHARDS in Watertown, MA.31

died on 1 Mar 1745 in Newton, MA.35

	12	M	v. RICHARD PARK was born on 21 Dec 1663 in Newton, MA. He died
on 1 Feb 1737/1738 in Newton, MA.38

	7.	RICHARD 2d PARK (RICHARD Jr., RICHARD Sr.) was born about 1667. He died on
19 Jun 1725 in Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.53

This Richard Park lived in Newton and Concord, Massachusetts.  He was a
Lt. in the militia, served as a representative of the Town of Concord and was a
selectman in1714 He had an interest in a saw mill in Sudbury, MA.54

Richard's will was dated 8 June 1725 and probated 12 July 1725.  He
mentioned his sons JOSEPH, JOSIAH, JONATHAN, ISAAC, EPHRAIM,
DANIEL & ZACCHEUS; wife ELIZABETH; daughters ELIZABETH
FASSETT, SARAH POST, ABIGAIL FISH, HANNAH PARKS, & REBECCA
PARKS.  Widow Elizabeth Parks was the executrix with Benjamin Brown & his
brother Thomas Garfield as overseers.  Witnesses to the document were Joseph
Brooks, Stephen Wilson & Edward Flint 55


RICHARD 2d married ELIZABETH BILLINGS, daughter of JOHN BILLINGS and
ELIZABETH HASTINGS, on 14 Jul 1690 in Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.56Elizabeth
was born on 6 Nov 1669 in Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.57 She died on 27 Jun 1756,ae 87

Middlesex Co., MA. He died after 1741 when he sold land in Pomfret, CT.

Jonathan Park purchased  land in Pomfret, CT between the years
1735-1740  from Joseph Holland et al in 173575 from Joseph Davison
in 173976  and from Thomas Truesdell in 1740.77

Prior to above in 1735 Jonathan Parks of Towne End in Middlesex
County,MA, purchased 60 acres of land in Pomfret from Joseph
Holland; land bounded on north by land of Benj Fassett and ye
Whitney’s; westerly same; south on land of Daniel Cady Jr.& Joseph 
Saunders east on land of Samuel Spalding 78 Jonathan sold land in
1740 to Benj Fassett.79and in 1741 to  Joseph Davison.80

      NATHANIEL BILLINGS OF CONCORD MASSACHUSETTS & HIS FAMILY

                         First Generation

	1.	NATHANIEL BILLINGS was born say 1615 probably in England.  He
died on 24 Aug 1673 in Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.102 He is probably buried in
the Old Mill Burying Ground where there is a stone in his memory.103

Nathaniel was a freeman in Concord, MA 2 June 1641.104 In 1666 he owned 5 lots
consisting of 51 acres south of Amos Baker in Concord, upon which he 
paid a tax of 1-6-8 .105  

The inventory of Nathaniel's estate was taken 16 Sept. 1673 by ? ? and
Robert Merriam.106

The name of Nathaniel’s wife is not known.

NATHANIEL and his spouse had the following children:

+	3	M	ii. NATHANIEL Jr. BILLINGS was born about 1643 and died on 27
Aug 1714.


                           Second Generation

	2.	JOHN BILLINGS (NATHANIEL) was born say 1640. He died on 3
Mar 1704 in Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.107 

John Billings lived in Concord, Mass. where he owned six lots consisting of 185 acres
south of Amos Baker on which he paid a tax of  l-1-4 in the year 1666.108  On 7 Dec.
1703 John Billings deeded all of his property to his "only surviving  son Samuel" with
the proviso that Samuel care for him during the remainder of his life109  On this same
day John deeded 50 acres of land in Concord to his daughter Sarah Hunt.110

JOHN married (1) ELIZABETH HASTINGS, daughter of JOHN HASTINGS, on 11
Nov 1661 in Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.111 Elizabeth was christened on 2 Jul 1643 in
Boston, MA.112 She died before 31 Dec 1685 when her husband  married (2)
ELIZABETH (RICE) LAMSON, daughter of RICHARD RICE & ELIZABETH &
widow of JOSEPH LAMSON in Concord, MA113

JOHN and ELIZABETH had the following children:114

Middlesex Co., MA. He died before 1703/1704.

1748/1749.

+	7	F	iv. ELIZABETH BILLINGS was born on 6 Nov 1669 and died on 27
Jun 1756.

	8	M	v. JOSEPH BILLINGS was born on 3 Sep 1672 in Concord, Middlesex
Co., MA. He died on 31 Dec 1690 in Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.116

	9	F	vi. MARY BILLINGS was born on 20 Jan 1674 in Concord, Middlesex

SARAH married EBENEZER HUNT, son of ISAAC HUNT and
MARY STONE, on 10 Dec 1701 in Concord, MA.117 Ebenezer died on
19 Mar 1748 in Concord, MA.118 No children



	3.	NATHANIEL Jr. BILLINGS (NATHANIEL) was born about 1643. He died on 27 Aug
1714 in Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.119

NATHANIEL married (1) JANE GOODENOW, daughter of THOMAS
GOODENOW and JANE RUDDOCK, on 19 Mar 1679 in Concord, MA.120 Jane
was born about 1649 in Sudbury, MA. She died on 6 Dec 1708 in Concord, MA.121
Jane married (1) CHRISTOPHER BANNISTER, died on 30 Mar 1678 in
Marlborough, MA, ae Abt 42.122 Children: 123 i. John Bannister was born on 11 Aug
1670 in Marlborough, MA, ii.Mary Bannister was born on 7 Oct 1672 in Marlborough,
MA. She died on 12 Mar 1676/1677 in Marlborough, MA124, iii.  Joseph Bannister
was born on 2 May 1675 in Marlborough, MA, iv.  Thomas Bannister was born on 21
Feb 1676/1677 in Marlborough, MA.  Sgt. Parmenter of Sudbury sued Christopher
Bannister of Marlborough on 26 Feb. 1665 for "trespass for defiling his daughter and
getting her with child"125

                John Hastings of Cambridge, Massachusetts 


                           First Generation

	1.	JOHN HASTINGS was born say 1600 in England. He died 2 Dec. 1657 in Cambridge,
Middlesex Co., MA.131

John Hastings, a tanner, lived in Braintree, MA in 1643 and was a freeman
there on 10 May 1643.132  John Hastings was dismissed from the Church
of Braintree and joined the First Church of Cambridge Feb. 1656.133 On 10 June 1649
the Town of Cambridge granted John Hastings liberty to mow the common meadow for
hay.134  John was a constable on 13 Nov. 1653 and on 13 Oct. 1656 he was a 
surveyor of highways.  He also had liberty to cut timber on the common to repair
fences135 

John Hastings resided on the easterly corner of Brattle & Ash Streets, the
former homestead of Thomas Bringham which he purchased 5 Mar. 1654.136 

John Hastings' will was dated 26 July 1657 and probated 7 Nov. 1657.  His
son Walter & wife Anne  Hastings  were executors and Deacon John Bridges &
Thomas Danforth were named as overseers.  The heirs were wife Anne, sons Walter,
Samuel & John; daughter Elizabeth; daughter-in-law Mary Mean, son-in-law
William Buttrick. Witnesses to the document were Nathaniel Green & Thomas
Danforth.137

                 The name of John Hasting’s first wife is not known.

JOHN and his spouse had the following children:138

75.

+	3	M	ii.   SAMUEL HASTINGS was born about 1634/1635 and died on 14 Feb
1704/1705.

+	4	M	iii.  JOHN SEABORN HASTINGS was born about 1637/1638 and died
about 1720.

+	5	F	iv.ELIZABETH HASTINGS was christened on 2 Jul 1643 and died
before 31 Dec 1685.

	6	F	v.DAUGHTER HASTINGS.
DAUGHTER married WILLIAM BUTTRICK.

JOHN also married (2) ANN MEAN. Ann was born about 1606. She died 25 Mar 1666,M
Age About 60 in Cambridge, Middlesex, MA.139 Ann married (1) JOHN MEAN who died 
19 Mar. 1645/46 in Cambridge, MA140  Ann Hastings’ inventory was taken by Thomas
 Fox and Edward Lytell and amounted to 47:17.-0  There is a document in her probate file
which reads “To the honored Court assembled at Cambridge - whereas it hath planned the
Lord to take away by death , Ann Hastings, widdo, and she not made a will to dispose of
what she had while she lived, we Walter Hastings and Samuel Hastings marrying her two
daughters do consent with the ___     of the honored court ___ ____  she left ____  property 
unto us, yett upon  consideration  we are willing that John Hastings and Elizabeth Billings 
should have out of that estate ten pounds between them signed Walter Hastings and John
Hastings, not dated, 141  


                        Second Generation

	2.	WALTER HASTINGS (JOHN) was born about 1631 probably in England. He died 5
Aug 1705, Ae 75 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., MA.142

WALTER married (1) SARAH MEAN, daughter of JOHN MEAN, his step-sister, on 10
Feb 1655 in Cambridge, MA143  Sarah was born about 1639 and died 27 Aug 1673, Ae 34
in Cambridge, MA.144

They had the following children:145

	7	F	i.  SARAH HASTINGS was born on 3 Jun 1656 in Cambridge, MA. She
died on 10 Jun 1663 in Cambridge, MA.146

	8	M	ii. JOHN HASTINGS was born on 2 Dec 1660 in Cambridge, MA.

	9	M	iii.WALTER HASTINGS was born on 29 Nov 1662 in Cambridge, MA.
He died  young.

	10	M	iv.WALTER HASTINGS was born on 26 Nov 1663 in Cambridge, MA.
He died 19 Sep 1673 In 11th Yr in Cambridge, MA.147

	11	F	v.HANNAH HASTINGS was born on 19 Jan 1664/1665 in Cambridge,
MA.

	12	F	vi.SARAH HASTINGS was born on 9 Dec 1664 in Cambridge, MA. She
died on 16 Jan 1664 in Cambridge, MA.148

	13	F	vii.ELIZABETH HASTINGS was born on 19 Feb 1666/1667 in
Cambridge, MA. She died on 3 May 1669 in Cambridge, MA.149

	14	M	viii.NATHANIEL HASTINGS was born on 12 Apr 1669 in Cambridge,
MA. He died on 15 Sep 1669 in Cambridge, MA.150

	15	M	ix.JONATHAN HASTINGS was born on 25 Jul 1672 in Cambridge,
MA.


WALTER also married (2) ELIZABETH BRIGHT, daughter of HENRY BRIGHT and
ANNA GOLDSTONE, on 23 Jul 1674 in Cambridge, MA.151 Elizabeth was born about
1645 and died 23 Jul 1702, Ae 56 in Cambridge, MA.152

They had the following children:153

Cambridge, MA. She died on 12 Jul 1675 in Cambridge, MA.154

	17	F	xi.	ABIGAIL HASTINGS was born on 16 Feb 1677 in Cambridge,

	18	M	xii.	WALTER HASTINGS was born on 10 Apr 1679 in
Cambridge, MA. He died 25 Sep 1699 In 21st Yr in Cambridge, MA.155


WALTER also married (3) ELIZABETH CLARK on 7 Jan 1702/1703 in Cambridge,
MA.156

	3.	SAMUEL HASTINGS (JOHN) was born about 1634/1635 in England.  He died on 14
Feb 1704/1705, ae 70 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., MA.157

"Samuel who was baptized in England & about ___years of age when his 
ffather Joyned to ye church of Braintree.158 

SAMUEL married his step-sister, MARY MEAN, daughter of JOHN MEAN, on 12 Nov
1661 in Cambridge, MA.159

	4.	JOHN SEABORN HASTINGS (JOHN) was born about 1637/1638 in England. He died
before 1 Nov. 1720  when  his .son John  was appointed administrator of his  estate 163

JOHN married (1) HANNAH MOORE, daughter of FRANCIS MOORE, on 1 Mar
1665/1666 in Cambridge, MA.164 Hannah was born about 1643. She died 10 Jun 1667, ae
24 in Cambridge, MA.165

	28	M	i.	JOHN HASTINGS was born on 17 Apr 1667 in Cambridge, MA.

JOHN also married (2) LYDIA CHAMPNEY, daughter of RICHARD CHAMPNEY
and JANE, on 20 May 1668 in Cambridge, MA.167 Lydia was born about 1642. She died
23 Jan.  1690/91, ae 48.168

Cambridge, MA. She died 16 Apr 1690/1691, ae 18 in Cambridge, MA.170

	32	F	v.	ELIZABETH HASTINGS was born on 11 Apr 1675 in
Cambridge, MA. She died in May 1727 in Cambridge, MA.171

	33	M	vi.	DANIEL HASTINGS was born on 3 Feb 1676/1677 in
Cambridge, MA.


JOHN also married (3) Mrs.  REBECCA EATON on 28 Sep 1691 in Cambridge,
MA.172 She died before 20 Jun 1723. when her husband's estate was divided between
children John, Joseph, Daniel, and Elizabeth.173 REBECCA married (1) BENONI
EATON born abt. 1649 and  died  20 Dec. 1690/91, ae 51 in Cambridge, MA 174 


	5.	ELIZABETH HASTINGS (JOHN) was christened on 2 Jul 1643 in Boston, MA. She
died before 31 Dec 1685.

ELIZABETH married JOHN BILLINGS, son of NATHANIEL BILLINGS, on 11 Nov
1661 in Concord, Middlesex Co., MA. John was born say 1640. He died on 3 Mar 1704 in
